What exactly is an online recording studio?
Under it one understands a professional recording studio that offers its services exclusively via web and is consequently accessible for anybody, location-independent and around the clock. A considerable advantage in comparison with a conventional recording studio consists in the aspect that we also provide – beside the typical and usual services of any recording studio – professional studio musicians that guarantee a quick and efficient handling of the recordings and arrangements of one (or straight away more) songs.
Thus also hobby-musicians, or those who aim for a career in the showbiz, can get a professional product (or maybe tracks for the completion of the own production) without the need to fork out a lot of money; costs that would be incurred if one decide to book a recording studio complete with studio-musicians.
How does it work?
In order to use the offered services, you must (if you’re not yet a registered client) first effect the client-registration by clicking on “Registration” in the window top left: please fill out the subsequent appearing online-schedule with all the required information in order to complete your registration successfully.
Just as your registration is concluded, you’re allowed to effect the order of the required services (you can find the offered services top left, available at “Services”). After having clicked on the desired service, you will see a brief description together with the offer concerning the costs: to make your order, just click on “Order”.
Once your order (or eventually more then one) is made, you must choose a payment method: you can choose between the payment via paypal / credit card or via bank transfer (please note that - if you’ve decided for this last option – that transactions mostly take several days before the payment/s has/have effectively been received)
After the payment is concluded, you get redirect automatically to a so-called “upload-browser” by which you can upload your files.
What are the requirements for a valid upload of the files?
a) for audiofiles that have to be processed directly (mixing, mastering, vocal tuning, reamping, track-alignement):
-> Frequency rate: 44.1, 48 oder 96 kHz
-> Number of bits: 24
-> Number of channels: 2 (stereo)
-> Format: wave, aiff
Please note that the files – that must be uploaded – have been exported correctly from your DAW (Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic Audio, Nuendo ecc.): before you proceed with the export, please look at the correct positioning of the left and right locator, and that these are fixed / locked (during as well as after the export). If the left locator is shift in a second moment or rather after the finalized export of a file, it results, after being imported back in your DAW, in a missed synch of the files that we have processed (vocal tuning, track alignement) or recorded (for example bass-guitar-track or electric guitar tracks). Thus, it becomes necessary to operate a manual shifting of these tracks, that beside a considerable loss of time implicates most probably a not 100% synch between the file/s that you’ve uploaded and the files we have recorded and/or processed.
Please pay also attention that all plugins that are eventually located on the master-output channel (2nd bus or masterchannel) are deactivated (switched to “bypass”) and that during the playback of the mix the loudness level can gain the maximum level of – 6dB (in relation to the “digital zero”): it means, for example, that a loud snare hit not pass the level of – 6 dB.
b) for audiofiles that serve exclusively as a reference point (provisory mix of the client that still need some electric guitar tracks, that consequently must be produced by the Valvesound Recording Studio on behalf of the client).
-> Frequency rate: 44.1
-> Number of bits: 16 are enough
-> Number of channels: 2 (stereo)
-> Format: we suggest mp3 files with a bitrate of 192 kbps, since these files can be uploaded faster due to a small filesize. Otherwise also wave or aif files are fine.
Please note also here, as already mentioned under a), at the correct position of the left and the right locator and that these are locked, during as well as after the export.
The payment process was completed correctly, but due to a not predictable case (the transmission and /or connection failed suddenly – mostly because of a power failure) the upload browser could not appear. What next?
No reason for panic! Beside a flawless customer service (we see instantly that the payment was completed, but no files were uploaded), we invite you to use without any additionally loss of time the service of www.wetransfer.com : it’s an efficient and generally accessible web portal (no registration needed!) for the transfer of larger files. The handling is very intuitive and simple:
on top left you can find an upload browser whereby you select the files that must be sent; then you have to enter respectively the e-mail addresses of the receiver (info@valvesound.eu) and of the sender and click on “Send”.
How long does it take for the Valvesound Production Team to produce and/or process the track/s for my song/s?
The length for the processing of the work to accomplish depends from the number of orders received. You have to expect with a wait of 3 to a maximum of 7 days on average. In the rare case in which you have to wait longer (if there’s an extremely high demand), we will obviously get instantely in touch with you to inform you of the final date for the receipt of your files.
Once the work is done, you will receive an email notification that let you know that your (produced / processed) files are ready to be downloaded (a download link for secure download delivery is attached).
